Orlando Kisses and Tells, Tiger Beat (US), November 2003

Oh Orlando! Find out why girls make this Brit babe swoon, blush and fly around the world!

If there is such a thing as the perfect guy, we’re pretty sure it’s Orlando Bloom. After all, the Pirates of the Caribbean star is cute, talented and sweet. But the best part? He says he’s a romantic. Sigh.

He loves being in love

Orlando is getting good at playing romantic guys in movies. His Pirates character, Will Turner, is a swoonworthy, lovesick boy, and he’ll play Paris, who whisks away the fair Helen, in next year’s Troy. He says he’s more like the romantic characters than you’d think. “I like to think I’m romantic,” he says. “It’s all the little things that count, I suppose. When I’m in love, that woman is the most important thing in my life. I do everything for her.”

What does he mean by “do everything”? Well, if his past relationships are any indication, if means an airline ticket is involved.

“I flew all the way to Dubai once to be with a girl that I dated at the time,” he reveals. “And when I was in love with an Irish girl, I sent her plane tickets and asked her to come and visit me in London.”

Girls make him blush

He seems smooth, but it wasn’t always that way. There was actually a time when Orly wasn’t a ladies’ man. “My first kiss was terrible,” he says. “I was 12 and I didn’t know what to do with my teeth!”

He also admits to doing anything a pretty girl tells him to, even if the result is a weird haircut! “I was sitting in the trailer having my hairline raised for the (Lord of the Rings) wig,” he says. “As it was being shaved back, Liv (Tyler) came and sat next to me. I was obviously a bit in awe of her. I turned and asked her what she thought of my new hair-line. She replied that it was ‘kinda cute,’ but suggested that I would look better with the sides totally shaved off. Obviously I was going to do anything Liv Tyler told me to do and, before I knew it, I had a Mohawk!”
